Flashback: President Donald Trump made immigration a hallmark issue of his campaign, and in the first week of his presidency, he signed executive orders suspending immigration from jihad regions, bolstering border patrol and deportation efforts and starting the funding process for the promised border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
Immigrants responded, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection reporting record-low apprehensions at the southwest borde.

And so, we want to get this done. We did. We worked with Congress to get this done to deal with the challenges at the border. President Trump got in the way and because President Trump got in the way Republicans are now getting in the way.”
