California politicians and bureaucrats are very good on taxing people on about just anything. Welcome to the modern day slavery of California.
I don't do Uber or Lyft, but I voted YES because WE should not EVEN be voting about something like this. Come what may, people should be able TO CHOOSE. DOWN WITH SACRAMENTO!
Let the free market Rock,
It’s difficult to be a conservative here in California. The government always want to make it seem that are trying to help people but simply trying to tax more and gain union votes. At this point I really don’t give a shit what were it goes. Because im tierd of paying taxes I now found a way to get some of my tax money back. I convinced my daughter to go apply for food stamps. Me and my wife are both employed zero dollars in debt and we get taxed a shit load. It’s really against my values and I feel it’s anti-American but now I see no difference between using food stamps for my food and government getting bigger at tax payers expence. Keep taxing plp that want socialism im collecting on my 3rd month. People actually have a way to control some taxes when buying things. I encourage people not to buy shit become minimalist and if you can pay cash for everything avoid paying taxes. I’d rather give my money to somebody that’s not going to pay taxes than the government. GET SOME OF YOUR MONEY BACK! Thanks Democrats for making it easy for me to recover some of my taxes back 😉 🇲🇽
I am an Uber & Lyft driver here in New Mexico.
I prefer to continue to be an independent contractor. I don’t want Lyft & Uber to try and control when I can or cannot log onto the platform. I personally would like to go back to the good all days where Lyft & Uber would give us 80% of what they would charge the customer. If anything else they can have a program set up for full-time drivers where we can have it discounted medical insurance with different providers that they can have a contract with. Think about it it won’t have these medical insurance providers to fight for our business and lower the cost of premiums to cover the independent contractor. Just to give you an idea I’ve been driving for Lyft 2 1/2 years and I have almost 6000 rides.
I think this video just got banned. Can’t make it play.
I think Uber and lyft need to change their motto. Instead of percentage of fair, just charge a flat fee to use the platform.
fck uber and lyft they are killing yellow cabs in nyc.
So the california cartel wants there cut of money and the dam unions cartel also want there cut that is called extortion undercover as so call better rights don't like to work for lyft as is quit !!!! Hell jest don't open the app it ain't rocket science
I was all for Yes on Prop 22 and I'm sooo glad it passed! But I didn't understand the point in this video that being employees for competing businesses is impossible. I dont think that's quite true. I couldn't work for CVS and Walgreens at the same time? 🤔 I am glad we are independent contractors but I want to make sure our arguments are sound.
Uber isn’t a job !!! It’s a payday loan against your car
So you guys are basically anti worker..
People keep voting democrat. When I went to vote everytime it said. Build this and this prop pays for new strictures and rodes i say noooo. That means we're gonna tax you more baby
Been cdl driver since 1993 with otr and school busses been doing rides here n gigs for 3 years in n.m. its a a pretty smooth market for being small. in California would Uber have to provide vehicles? Other issues like higher insurance what about shop maintenance? Roadside maintenance spare vehicles, no more stock/ bot support maybe more personal contact with live dispatch? Take on as much apps as you can using and building up a little fleet for backup LEARN TO DO YOUR OWN REPAIRS hire on a couple of trusting drivers. Too many self serving drivers too strict about their own vehicles, rideshare is not for you go drive in your area for courier co. Or logistics run parts for a year then think about driving rideshare. Uber lyft instacart p.m. ,ddoordash gh. Like the DUSTIN IS DRIVING SAYS BACK UPS TO YOUR BACK UPS. good update thanks
You guys are missing the point. It's an exploitation of labor. An exploitation of human beings. The drivers are paid enough to cover marginal costs, but not fixed costs. They're eating depreciation. And have 100% of the liability. A taxi driver back in the day could make a living driving a taxi. A rideshare driver does not.
people would get on a bus out of the airport just to get an uber?
instead of using real Taxis.
Sad times.
I hope the rest of the US can see California as an example of what not to.
it should be a no brainer to stay an independent contractor. keep control of your destiny
im going out of my household to visit ppl/invite to my household and dine out with who i like anyways. don't care what any province, mayor or govt says. Don't need them as a babysitter can use my own smarts since, been working so far. Not letting the fear mongering from media or govt control me.
Democrats know how to destroy a state and city!
Who pushed this proposition….the taxi lobby?
https://youtu.be/m4A6RIOwC2E Arise Oh Lord, and let your enemies be scattered. Shine Your Face on president Trump!
Bald dude is a clown for thinking Tesla is 10x overvalued, they returned positive GAAP net income for a fourth straight quarter, they've quickly scaled the shit out of their manufacturing, and they are miles ahead of any other company using lidar for self driving. I'd also be interested to hear him break down a cost-benefit analysis of his "entrepreneurial" son (who simply sold shit on ebay) purchasing a used car. Just because his Dad works for some hack media company doesn't mean he's above buying a used car
Im so glad I moved from California.
It's amazing how the left has been able to destroy such a beautiful state.
I’l drive for them in AZ it’s a side hustle nothing more nothing less. I work full time I drive after work and weekends for extra money. People who is this as a full time job are the ones crying about they want to be employees l. Get a driving job with a company don’t ruin this for all of us
6:00 “Not adjusted for inflation, period!” Don’t we want to adjust since the value of a dollar is less than yesterday?
I voted yes on 22 leave them alone to do as they do I have a car but I have had a DUI and if I decide to drink ever again I want to use their service to avoid drinking and driving ..yes on 22
I drove for Uber. This is a coveted opportunity no matter how it rolls out. Drivers are hungry 😋 it’s not funny that they keep playing with people’s livelihood. TLC or Cali Or Austin local Govt . Stop playing allow commerce to happen.

I own more than one car and I love to drive…. no way on Uber or Lyft!
My cars are paid off. I only use Uber/Lyft for business travel which is currently dead due to COVID…it's cheaper for me to have a car but I support Uber and Lyft drivers being independent.
I tried working as a contractor. I would do it again but based on my last experience, I'd do it differently.
Welcome to communism. Just look at Venezuela.
