she jumped right in there to help, I love that, you go girl.
Hi …glad to see it wasnt a full-on chimney fire. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Keep warm!
Not sure about your wood stove, but with my two, I can clean them from inside the house vs on the roof. I remove the baffle, run the brush up thru the fire box, most the
creosote stays inside the fire box and a little will bounce out. Easy enough to sweep up.
I find this way best for my stoves because a lot of creosote will come off the inside of the chimney pipe, fall on top of the baffle, build up and can cause a fire there.
I brush mine at the beginning of the season (think bird nest) and roughly once a month during the season. I burn crap wood often so I just assume Iâm building up creosote. Takes about 15
minutes to sweep each stove.
If you ever have a chimney fire with a fire box full of wood that doesnât want to go out, the jet engine sound, the glowing red chimney pipe â when the adrenaline stops, youâll add brushing to your regular maintenance schedule. đ
my advice about the bag was already given. its important to have a logical thought process on a homestead. getting hurt happens but not point in asking for it. good call Matt
Thoughts on how homesteading intermingles with zero waste and sustainability? Almost worthy of a future vid.
Glad itâs working now. Keep yourself warm.
Merry Christmas!
you guys ROCK Bro, also glad you didn't go up on the roof…….. ride out the storm and wishing you all a Very MERRY CHRISTMAS :-)….. Jackson
Glad you didn't go on the roof, that looked sketchy. Glad it was an easy fix for ya.
Her butt thumbnail happened ?
I clean mine from the inside. Good call not going on the roof with that ice. Next time, duct tape a plastic bag around the stove pipe, and poke a hole in the bottom to stick the brush into, and then duct tape around the handle of the brush, then all the creosote will fall into the plastic bag and not your floor.
